MELISSA PARKE ROUSSEAU
Melissa Parke Rousseau is an artist, designer, and founder of Materia Floré — an art, design & wellness atelier.
Her background spans luxury visual design, abstract painting, and over a decade in the healing arts. She began her career on the window design team at Bergdorf Goodman, later studied Metalsmithing at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, and holds a Master's in Art Education from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
As a certified herbalist, nutritionist, massage therapist, and breathwork guide, her approach to design is informed by an unusually deep understanding of the body, of material, and of what makes design resonate beyond the visual.
Through Materia Floré, she leads visual identity, brand development, and creative direction for founders and brands operating in beauty, wellness, and culture — bringing a signature editorial precision to work that demands both aesthetic intelligence and genuine substance.
Her painting practice works in large-scale abstract watercolor and mixed media, exploring the textures and ethereal aura of the natural world.
She also writes the Materia Floré journal on Substack — a weekly publication on art, design, healing, and the beauty that survives grief.
